Engage your students with engineering

Science Foundation Ireland supports I’m an Engineer, Get me out of here.

“At Science Foundation Ireland, we believe in the ability of science, technology, engineering & maths to effect positive change in the world and drive a sustainable international economy. SFI promotes and supports the study of, education in, and engagement with STEM and promotes an awareness and understanding of the value of STEM to society and, in particular, to the growth of the economy.”

I’m an Engineer, Get me out of here will connect school students with working engineers from across Ireland.

I’m an Engineer is a safe and secure online platform.

It’s quick and easy to set up, and text-based – no audio or video required.

Students get to:

  • Ask working engineers their questions
  • Connect with them through live text-based Chats
  • Vote for their favourite to win €500!

It’s accessible from home or the classroom and super-flexible – you book chats at times that suit you and your classes.

Thanks to SFI and our other funders, this activity is completely free for Irish state-maintained schools.

What teachers say:

“Incredibly easy to set up and run”
“The enthusiasm of the scientists involved is contagious and the children get very excited when questions are answered.”
